Introduction

"East and West" and "Classic and Contemporary" have always been the sources of inspiration for Lu Fang's creations. Lu Fang has lived in both the East and the West for many years. Based on his love for Renaissance painting, after returning to Taiwan, the idea of integrating ancient paintings and contemporary life arises. In 2010, in his solo exhibition "From the Past to the Present: The Whimsical World of Big Noses" held in Taipei, Lu Fang reinterpreted classical European paintings and transformed himself into a humorous "big nose" in classical paintings. , stirring up contemporary and classical works.

In the 2014 solo exhibition "Out of the Past II: Playing with Ancient Paintings", Lu Fang started the process of Bruegel's antique in the Renaissance period of the Renaissance with his brush, ingeniously integrating the life of ordinary people 500 years ago into the living environment of today's Taiwan. , not only adds an interesting and intriguing dialogue between China and the West through ancient and modern times, but also allows Lu Fang to establish his own unique creative context and style. The title of this solo exhibition is arranged in two lines and two columns, which can be read as "the past is not the present", "the past is not the present", or "the past is not the present", trying to bring the audience an indistinguishable time and space contradiction. taste.
