Introduction

The Art Museum of the Night returns to the end of 2017

│ On this quiet night in early winter, we will screen the movie "A Generation of Tea Saint Sen Rikyu" and hold a tea ceremony experience event, inviting you to experience the "Hospitality" of Yuxiu Art Museum.

Yuxiu Art Museum is currently exhibiting artists Suda Yoshihiro and Gu Hezhong, and many viewers have been deeply moved since the exhibition: Gu Hezhong’s oil paintings have a quiet and meditative atmosphere where everything is contemplative, and Suda Yoshihiro’s large white space allows the audience to find hidden objects. The flowers, plants and leaves in the corners, the viewers feel moved by the beauty in surprise. "Flowers | Non-Flowers" is the first solo exhibition of artist Suda Yoshihiro in Taiwan. A total of six new works from 2017 are on display. Regarding the origin of his own works, Suda Etsuhiro once said in an interview: Rikyu has a considerable influence on him. Regarding Morning Glory and Rikyu, there was an anecdote: Toyotomi Hideyoshi visited Rikyu in order to appreciate the morning glory, but When Hideyoshi arrived, the morning glory in the garden had been cut out by Rikyu, and when Hideyoshi entered the tea room in a rage, he saw a round of morning glory on the wall. This story had a considerable impact on Suda, and it was also the starting point for Suda to use plants as his creative theme. Etsuhiro Suda's installation works do not only focus on the beauty of the object itself, but also the interaction with the space is also a part of the work; just like the tea ceremony, in addition to tasting the matcha tea, it is also an interest created in the taste space.

The theme of this event is "Cui". The aesthetics of "Cui" began to develop from the Edo period in Japan, with special emphasis on posture and sensory response. This event is based on the concept of "Cui". Experience the tea ceremony, in addition to tasting the tea for a while, but also feeling the aesthetic sense of the senses.

Starry Sky Movie Screening│ Generation Tea Saint Senrikyu

│ Sen Rikyu was originally the son of the fish shop owner. He stood at the top of "beauty" and manipulated and mastered it at will. As long as he recognized things, it was the guarantee of the best.
Originally, Hideyoshi admired Rikyu's aesthetics and the precise control of the tea ceremony, but he was arrogant and gradually could not bear the one-sided respect of Rikyu by the world, and even the fate of being given death? For more information, please see the following description.
